In Conversation with Gurinder Chadha GFT

Glasgow Film Industry Team are delighted to present an In Conversation with writer/director Gurinder Chadha. During this session Gurinder will discuss the upcoming release of her latest film Blinded by the Light, her career successes to date, and look at the qualities that make for a successful career in film.
Gurinder began her career at BBC News as a broadcast journalist and moved into directing in 1989 with her documentary I’m British But… for Channel 4 and the BFI.
Her first feature, the landmark drama-comedy Bhaji on the Beach received a BAFTA nomination for Best British Film, and received the Evening Standard British Film Award for Best Newcomer to British Cinema. Her third feature Bend It Like Beckham, at the time of its release, was the highest grossing British-financed, British-distributed film ever in the UK box-office.
Other hit films from Gurinder Chadha include What’s Cooking, Bride & Prejudice, Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging, and Viceroy’s House.
