Hide Your Smiling Faces
Friday 22–Thursday 28 August
GFT, 12 Rose Street, G3 6RB
Set over the course of a summer in rural America, Hide Your Smiling Faces follows two brothers as they try to come to terms with the death of a friend. Seeking refuge in nature, the film documents the brothers’ changing relationship as they experience their own mortality, and experiment with the boundary between life and death. Shot in the countryside where he grew up, this first feature from director Daniel Patrick Carbone is an evocative exploration of adolescence.
Due to a change in the programme, the 20.50 showing of Hide Your Smiling Faces on Saturday 23 August has been cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience.
