It’s Baltimore, 1962, and a rebellious teenager with the biggest bouffant on the block attempts to win the coveted ‘Miss Auto Show’ crown as she fights against racial discrimination. John Waters’ much-loved hit Hairspray featuring a wildly entertaining line up of Ricky Lake, Jerry Stiller, Debbie Harry and Water‘s long-time muse, Divine, is screening at GFT to celebrate its 35th anniversary.
