Warp the popcorn! We’re going to space… Famous for trekking beyond the final frontier as Lt. Sulu, this documentary charts actor George Takei’s determined journey through earthly obstacles. As a Japanese American citizen he was imprisoned as a young child alongside his family in the internment camps set up by the US government during the Second World War. These early experiences follow Takei as he navigates the complexities of being simultaneously an Asian American, a gay man, an actor and a political activist never short on puns and panache. Includes outrageous flaming of William Shatner!
Accompanied by short Looking for Jiro, Dir. Tina Takemoto.
