Glasgow Madrigirls presents: A Garden Of Delights
Kibble Palace, Glasgow Botanic Gardens
Saturday 30 May 7:30pm
A cappella sacred, folk and traditional music inspired by the Hortus Deliciarum – the lost 12th century writings of the Abbess Herrad of Landsberg.
Join us for an evening of music for the great outdoors – from pilgrim songs and cattle calls to lullabies, laments and love songs for leafy bowers. Including two surviving pieces from the original manuscript, and featuring two new commissions based on the medieval texts by Glasgow based musicians Lavinia Blackwall and Katy Lavinia Cooper.
Main concert will be preceded by several short recitals in private gardens around the west end. See website for details.
Entry Free
