Los Angeles based independent music label Stones Throw Records has been gaining momentum in the past two decades for steadily signing some of the most interesting, esoteric and often abrasive acts in underground music. At first focusing solely on hip-hop, the label has since branched into a variety of different genres – becoming a haven for fans of left-field music. Focusing on the man at the centre of it all, Chris Manak aka DJ Peanut Butter Wolf, Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton charts the rise of the label, from humble beginnings to modern cult status.
Peanut Butter Wolf will participate in a Q&A following the screening. The official after party will take place at Broadcast, featuring a Peanut Butter Wolf DJ Set. Tickets available from www.broadcastglasgow.com.
