The Florida Project, GFT
16 – 21 February, 2018
From the acclaimed director of Tangerine, The Florida Project tells the story of precocious six-year-old Moonee (newcomer Brooklynn Prince). Living in pastel-coloured motel The Magic Castle, in Florida, Moonee and her friends’ summer break is filled with childhood wonder and a sense of adventure, while their parents and the adults around them struggle with hard times. Baker’s realist filmmaking offers an empathetic look at, and raises sobering questions about, life in modern America.
