Andrew Rossi’s insightful documentary follows the creation of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s most attended fashion exhibition in history, the 2015 show China: Through The Looking Glass. With unprecedented access, Rossi captures the collision of high fashion and celebrity, as Vogue editor Anna Wintour orchestrates the glitzy fundraiser. Featuring renowned artists including filmmaker Wong Kar Wai, fashion designer John Galliano and pop star Rihanna, The First Monday in May dives into the debate about whether fashion should be viewed as art.
