Editing Masterclass Andrew Hunt and Colin Goudie, GFT
3 July, 2019
Glasgow Film Festival Industry Team are pleased to welcome director Andrew Hunt and editor Colin Goudie (Star Wars: Rogue One) to the GFT for a special Editing/Directing Masterclass prior to the screening of their film Funny You Never Knew.
Funny You Never Knew is a feature documentary that follows comedians Fred Willard and Kevin Pollak as they re-discover a trio of comedians from the 1950s: Imogene Coca, George Gobel and Martha Raye – three remarkable performers whose groundbreaking comedy captured the American zeitgeist and influenced many of the major comedians that followed: from Bob Newhart, Lily Tomlin, and Carol Burnett to Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres and Kristen Wiig.
Join director Andrew Hunt and editor Colin Goudie as they discuss the collaborative nature of the director/editor relationship, looking at their work on Funny You Never Knew, which was co-edited by them both whilst on different continents. Colin and Andrew will show clips from the film and discuss in-depth the editing process, developments within international collaboration and the technology that makes this possible.
