awesome community spaces

Monday 14 April, 2025

Advanced Research Centre, University of Glasgow, 11 Chapel Lane Glasgow G11 6EW

Part of Spring Fling 7 – 18 April

About this event

In this fun session, you find out a bit more about the idea of ‘place-making’, which is all about people creating the best possible spaces to make them feel great.

Using your imagination, you will think about what an amazing community space would look like. You will get the chance to build this using Lego. If you had an empty piece of ground in your community, what would you like to see there? You will learn about the important things to think about when creating safe and welcoming community spaces.

Schedule:

  • 10.00/13.00 Welcome and what to expect in this session; what’s a good way to make a great place?
  • 10.10/13.10 Your challenge – Get creative, using Lego, build your ideal community space
  • 10.35/13.35 Show and tell, and learn from each other
  • 10.50/13.50 So long, farewell and thanks
