Comfort and Joy, GFT Christmas 2024
Friday 20 December 12.20 p.m.
Sunday 22 December 2.30 p.m.
Hero. Comfort and Joy is a comedy gem about ice cream van wars in Glasgow.
Bill Paterson stars as Glasgow radio host Alan Bird, who, after witnessing an ice cream van being attacked, becomes embroiled in a feud between two Italian families: a turf war over who gets to sell ice cream where in the city. Comfort and Joy features Forsyth’s trademark eccentric, gentle humour and is hailed as ‘his masterpiece’ by The Spectator.
