The second feature from pioneering French New Wave feminist filmmaker Agnès Varda remains a highlight of the extraordinary outpouring of French movies in the early 60s. Following a pop singer around the streets and parks of Paris as she whiles away two hours awaiting the results of some medical tests, this is both a sumptuous documentary-style portrait of the vibrant city and a subtle, innovative character study.
Screening in 35mm.
