GFT
Friday 24–Sunday 26 April
The second feature from writer/director Duane Hopkins (following his 2008 debut Better Things) is an eloquent, moving and stylised look at a young small-time criminal named Tim (Sunshine on Leith’s George McKay) pushed into adulthood when his older brother is sentenced to 18 months in prison. Attempting to balance a chaotic home life, a descent into nefarious criminal activity and the symptoms of an unknown illness, Tim’s sad downward spiral is expertly captured by Hopkins’ evocative direction.
12 Rose Street, Glasgow, G3 6RB.
