Away at GFT

15 – 17 March, 2025
Away ≠ short Saturday 15 March, 2025 – 11.30 a.m.
A boy and a little bird are on a journey across a strange island trying to get back home.
Away is a dialogue-free fantasy adventure and the debut animated feature from Golden Globes winner, Gints Zilbalodis, whose latest film Flow will also screen at GFT from 21 March to 3 April. Away is about a boy travelling across an island on a motorcycle, trying to escape a dark spirit and get back home. Along the way he makes a series of connections with different animals and reflects on the possible ways he ended up on the island. Part dream, part reality, Away explores our common, universal need to find a connection.
Screening alongside the short film The Lab (3m, Izzy Livesey).
