All The Wild Horses, GFT
8 – 14 June, 2018
The Mongol Derby is the longest, toughest horse race in the world. Riders are expected to cover a thousand kilometres, stopping at twenty-five horse stations and selecting a new mount at each one. Ivo Marloh’s thrilling documentary follows an eclectic group of competitors, from an American firefighter to two Irish jump jockeys, as they pit themselves against a succession of wild horses. Some of them barely make it beyond the starting point as they face remote terrain, unpredictable weather, heatstroke and the threat from wolves in a stirring test of human and animal endurance. GFF18
