Alasdair Gray: A Life in Progress GFT
22 February, 2020 2.50 p.m.
This special screening celebrates the life and work of Alasdair Gray, the novelist, painter, poet, playwright, outspoken political firebrand and irrepressible creative force who passed away in December 2019. Initially premiered at Glasgow Film Festival in 2013, Kevin Cameron’s feature-length documentary offers a colourful mosaic of interviews, vintage archive footage and opportunities to view Gray at work. It is an affectionate and playful portrait, giving plenty of time to the creation of Gray’s masterpiece Lanark, as well as showing how Gray’s perspective and influence.
The screening will be introduced by director Kevin Cameron.
