Glasgow Cathedral Festival 2025
18 – 21 September, 2025
Glasgow Cathedral Festival returns with a bold and celebratory programme marking Glasgow 850. Inspired by the city’s reputation as a place of community and invention, this year’s festival draws together cultural and scientific influences across a range of art forms: from established classical music favourites to cutting-edge contemporary sounds, and intimate theatre to immersive, cult cinema.
Glasgow Cathedral Festival is operated by the Society of Friends of Glasgow Cathedral. The Society of Friends is a charitable, non-religious organisation that oversees the care and preservation of the cathedral for posterity. It encourages both Glasgow residents and visitors to experience the unique architectural and historical legacy of the city’s oldest building, as well as supporting artistic activity in and around the cathedral.
Glasgow Cathedral Festival (GCF) has launched its ninth season: taking place from 18–21 September 2025, and bringing life to Glasgow’s medieval cathedral with site-specific live music, film, theatre, art, talks and tours
● This year’s festival unites a packed weekend events under the theme Together We Imagine—celebrating Glasgow’s 850-year legacy as a city of innovation and community
● From a poetic retelling of the legend St Enoch to evenings of immersive cinema, a highly anticipated organ world premiere and a sonic journey into outer space, the diverse 2025 programme reaffirms GCF’s commitment to connect meaningfully with a wide variety of audiences
● In order to welcome the broadest possible spectrum of visitors, GCF is once again offering several free daytime events, and all tickets for the 2025 festival will be sold at £18 or less – with many priced at £10 or less. Discounts will also be offered to students and those registered unemployed. Year round, GCF’s work extends beyond the cathedral, with an ongoing education programme.
