About the Musical
OILCAN – the musical is a bold and innovative musical blending contemporary rap with traditional Scottish airs. It explores Power, identity and Community Leadership. Developed through collaborative workshops, the musical amplifies unheard voices, telling stories of communities facing political and social challenges.
At its core, OILCAN – the musical is a platform for creative expression, where participants contribute ideas, lyrics, and scripts that may help shape the final production.
Through attending one of the feeder workshops, you can develop skills in musical writing, connect with a wider artistic community and potentially see your work published and featured in a professional production!
