Echo (2019)

Rúnar Rúnarsson’s Echo featured as part of the GFF20 Country Focus, Iceland: Shining Northern Lights.

This soulful documentary/fiction hybrid consists of 56 scenes that stretch from the first twinkling tree light to the last spent firework of a New Year’s dawn. The familiar rituals of a modern Christmas are all here from a photo opportunity with a merry Santa to a school Nativity play. He also captures a sense of what binds us together and the way technology helps to draw us closer. The great circle of life is acknowledged and celebrated in a film that captures the way we live now.
