Celine and Julie Go Boating, GFT

Jacques Rivette’s 1974 film is an acknowledged masterpiece of avant-garde cinema. Partly co-written by the cast, it centres on the friendship between its eponymous heroines, Céline, a cabaret performer, and the librarian/magician Julie. Following each other around Paris, they become accidental detectives, investigating mysterious, recurrent events in a haunted house. Céline and Julie in part inspires Georgina Starr’s new film Quarantaine, which will premiere at Glasgow International 2020.
Visual artist Georgina Starr will introduce the screening. Presented by Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art / The Hunterian.
