Crossways: The Irish Scottish Cultural & Literary Festival, Glasgow Merchant City
T R A S N Ú ~ COMAR
The Irish Scottish Cultural & Literary Festival
9–15 April 2018
The Emigrant Support Fund, of the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin, has recently awarded Irish Pages a large grant to organize an annual “Irish Scottish Cultural and Literary Festival” in the Merchant City area of Glasgow. It will take place 9-15 April 2018. The particular aim is to foster and expand the rather weak literary links across the North Channel, particularly between Northern Ireland and Scotland — separated, as it were, by the United Kingdom and a devolved focus on London. Additional grants have been received from Colmcille, a part of Foras na Gaeilge, and The University of Strathclyde.
All events are free but booking advised for events at City Halls (0141 353 8000) and The Tron 041 552 4267 – otherwise first come first served basis. Other venues are Vic Bar, The Tron, Blackfriars and Babbity Bowsers.
