Celebrate the 96th birthday of Doris Day at Glasgow Film Theatre – 3 April, 2018
To mark the occasion of Doris Day’s 96th birthday GFT screen one of the favourite films from her glittering career. This Oscar-winning comedy of crossed wires and exasperated misunderstandings is the first and best of the Day-Hudson romps. Self-reliant Jan (Doris Day) shares a telephone with womanising composer Brad (Rock Hudson), who keeps the line permanently engaged whispering sweet nothings to his next conquest. A chance meeting prompts Brad to raise the stakes in their battle and pose as a gentlemanly Texan suitor… of course, his plans don’t run smoothly.
