Men Should Weep, The Pantheon Club at Websters Theatre Glasgow

6 – 10 March, 2018
Websters Theatre
The Pantheon Club is proud to present Ena Lamont Stewart’s powerfully moving, darkly humorous and dramatically poignant play MEN SHOULD WEEP.
Written in 1947, this is an extraordinarily moving play about women surviving in the east end of Glasgow during the 1930s Depression. It finds in the lives of Maggie, her family and her neighbours, not only all the tragedy that appalling housing, massive unemployment and grinding poverty can produce, but also the effects of gendered roles and domestic violence, all interwoven with a rich vein of Glaswegian humour found in times of darkness and despair.
Recommended for ages 12+ due to adult themes
