Celebrate Christmas with the Glasgow School of Art Choir
9 December, 2017 – 7.30.m.
New Auditorium, Royal Concert Hall, 2 Sauchiehall St, G2 3NY
This year, the Glasgow School of Art Choir will be kicking off the celebrations by performing their ever-popular, festive concert in one of Glasgow’s newest and finest choral venues: the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall New Auditorium. A stunning addition to the city’s performance spaces.
This concert encompasses works from the entire range of musical responses to the theme of Christmas through history: from triumphant, traditional favourites to show-stopping medleys containing well-loved standards from the golden age of Christmas songs. The evening will also contain some sacred works – illustrating how composers have dealt with the religious significance of Christmas – focussing not on Jesus himself, but on the other central character of the nativity: the Virgin Mary.
The choir’s first concert in this beautiful venue – start your Christmas celebrations with the Glasgow School of Art Choir
