Vaseem Khan & Abir Mukherjee – The Jewel in the Crime
This session brings together two young crime writers who have chosen India as the setting for their novels. Vaseem Khan’s The Perplexing Theft of the Jewel in the Crown, is the second book in the charming Baby Ganesh series. When the Crown Jewels go on display in Mumbai, security is everyone’s principal concern. And yet, on the very day Inspector Chopra visits the exhibition, the Koh-i-Noor diamond is stolen from under his nose… Abir Mukherjee’s The Rising Son is the start of an atmospheric and enticing new historical crime series. Captain Sam Wyndham, former Scotland Yard detective, is a new arrival to Calcutta. Still haunted by his experiences in The Great War, Wyndham is caught up in a murder investigation that will take him into the dark underbelly of the British Raj.
