Scottish Gardens, Open Day, Glasgow Botanics Gardens 10 July, 2016
Description
Glasgow Botanic Gardens encompasses 19.4 hectares of gardens and an arboretum.The collections have developed since the establishment of the Botanic Gardens in 1817. The Main Range glasshouses and the world renowned Kibble Palace offer a range of environmental conditions and host plants from around the world. The guided tours, led by senior Gardens staff, will take a look behind the scenes to see the backup collections, propagation facilities and the orchid laboratory. The tour will also include a visit to the Filmy Fern House, rarely seen by the public but not to be missed!
Directions
The Gardens are located at the junction between Byres Road and Great Western Road. Closely located public transport stations include Hillhead (subway) and Partick (railway). Buses 6, 8, 10a and 19 stops nearby.

Admissions
£5.00, OAP’s £4.00, children under 12 free
