It’s that time of year again and we’re rocking the SWC Christmas Party with live readings from our members and guest host, Robin Cairns. Please join us, bring along something to read, perform, or slam and share the season’s festivities with our Members!
Robin Cairns’ plays have reached audiences at London venues The King’s Head Theatre and The Old Red Lion. He has worked in rock, cricket, and mental health journalism. Robin also sings in bands including Cairns And The Cattle Prods. He has performed poetry across Scotland, England, and ventured into Europe too. His play, Sawney Bean, A Very Scottish Cannibal – was a hit at StAnza Poetry Festival 2014. He has worked with John Hegley, Tony Roper, John Cooper Clarke, and The Krankies. Robin performs regularly at The Britannia Panopticon Music Hall in Glasgow. He runs the monthly live poetry event, Last Monday at Rio – in The Rio Café. He also runs slam competitions throughout the year and hosted this year’s Scottish Slam Championships at The Tron Theatre. Robin has recently had a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe with his show, The A To Zed Of Loving A Ned.
