Virtuoso Iranian director Jafar Panahi (This Is Not a Film, The White Balloon) returns with his latest film from within a country that continuously attempts to suppress his voice. For this latest work, Panahi uses the device of a yellow taxi that drives through the streets of Tehran whilst the driver interviews various passengers. A simple premise, but one that reveals a startling amount– as Panahi’s camera is constantly on the move throughout the city, the driver, passenger and audience look outwards onto the streets and inwards at the nation’s troubled centre. Winner of the top award at Berlin Film Festival 2015.
