Born next to an abbatoir in Glasgow. He believes this may account for a lifetime butchering the English language. His writing has appeared in magazines such as From Glasgow to Saturn, The List and The Skinny, as well as short story anthologies, including Tip Tap Flat and A Sense of Place. James now lives next to a brewery, which he believes may account for his carefree approach to punctuation. MC
Gerry Coyle
Gerry is from Glasgow and started on the University of Glasgow creative writing program in 2012
Bjorn was born in Reykjavík, Iceland in 1983. He holds a BA in English and American literature from the University of East Anglia and is in his final year of an MFA in creative writing at the University of Glasgow. His writing has been published in From Glasgow to Saturn, among other publications, and last April he taught a course on detective fiction at the Aye Write Festival. He desperately needs a job
Kevin is a journalist trying not get the fiction of his imagination confused with facts of his day job. He is currently studying an MLitt in creative writing. His short stories have been published in various magazines and journals and he is currently co -editor of Glasgow Uni’s creative writing magazine From Glasgow to Saturn.
A California transplant, came to Glasgow in 2011 to study on the Masters of Fine Arts program in creative writing at the University of Glasgow. She enjoys long walks on the beach, photography (see the event’s poster image), horror films, and reading anything by W.G. Sebald
When she’s not writing, Charlotte is usually cooking, eating or thinking about her next meal. She is currently working on a collection of food-based short stories and she lives in Glasgow.

John is originally from Paisley, but now spends most of his time in Paisley . He and Dame Shirley Bassey share a birthday, but unfortunately not a wardrobe
Katy Hastie.
Aside from helping to organise this event, Katy entered the Creative Writing program in 2012 and got herself involved in everything: Edinburgh’s inky fingers writing collective, online arts journals e-sharp and The Kelvingrove review, the Aye Write festival, arts blogging for Kohl publishing, freelancing at Freight, making radio dramas on Subcity, extra classes in Proust and print culture, as well as writing about woman and weird stuff.
Calum is a 23 year old writer from Glasgow. His poetry has been published in Gutter Issue 8, Octavius Magazine volume one and the upcoming volume two. He is currently co-editor of the University of Glasgow’s online creative writing showcase From Glasgow to Saturn. He recently left a six year job selling Ice Cream and is currently finding unemployment quite satisfying. MC
JoAnne McKay
JoAnne was born into a family of slaughterers in Essex. After a career as a police officer in Bristol, she moved to Scotland fifteen years ago and is currently in the second year of an MLitt. at the University of Glasgow. She is a widely published poet, and has appeared at literary festivals throughout the UK. Her second pamphlet,Venti, was runner-up in the Callum Macdonald Memorial Award in 2011.
‘Started extensive diary writing at eleven which had to be abandoned when her children learned to read. Diaries now heavily redacted and in a bank vault. Other more publicly available work exists, with a considerable number of pieces being published. Now retired from academic life and gone over to the other side, being in the second year of the part-time M.Litt.’ email
