Open Casting Workshop A Play A Pie and A Pint

A Play, A Pie and A Pint

Friday 6 November, 2026, 10 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.

An open casting workshop in Glasgow’s West End that allows actors to practise their craft, network with fellow artists and industry professionals, and showcase their skills to A Play, A Pie and A Pint to be considered for future productions. Deadline for applying 19 October.

These workshops are invaluable in helping discover talent in Scotland’s acting community. From last year’s workshop, several actors were employed at A Play, A Pie and A Pint as a result of  their  attendance and performance.

There will be a slight alteration to the our open casting workshops – previously 3 sessions were delivered in one day once a year. Now one session will be delivered several times a year. For this November workshop,  16 performers will be selected for the 10am-12.30pm session on 6 November.

Co-facilitated by Associate Director, Ben Standish, and Casting Associate, Jake Curran-Pipe, this session will be attended by A Play, A Pie and A Pint (PPP) staff and Scotland’s industry professionals.

Particularly keen to attract the following performers:

  • That haven’t worked with PPP before
  • That haven’t worked for PPP since 2022
  • That identify as a person of the Global Majority
  • That identity as d/Deaf
  • That identify as disabled
  • That identify as working class
  • That identify as LGBTQIA+

To be considered for this workshop you must be based in the Greater Glasgow area (G postcode).

Please see  INFORMATION PACK for full details and with regard to how to apply. The deadline to apply is Mon 19 October, 6pm.
