Kate and Geoff Mercer (Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay) are all set to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary when they hear that Geoff’s first love has been discovered dead in the icy glaciers of the Swiss Alps. The fallout from this news shakes the couples’ marriage to the core.
