Alan Rodgers the young owner/manager of TriBeCa runs his relaxed and intimate restaurant supported by a colourful and capable multi-cultural team. Including Erin from Australia, Clementine from France, Carlene from Toronto and his Chef, Scott, a local lad from Partick.

The food is very much New York inspired with tantalising tapas (any three for £11.50) - you can choose from the likes of Spanish Omelette, Blini and Salmon, Chicken Kebabs or Bruschetta. The restaurant is now licenced with a brand new wine list. The brunch menu is very popular and I can vouch for the pancakes, bacon and maple syrup, accompanied by some Bei and Nannini coffee - really delicious. The home made berry cheesecake also sounded very tempting and Alan plans include adding more home cooked dishes to the menu but keeping in mind the New York Style.

Photo: Carlene and Erin of Tribeca. "TriBeCa is a small neighbourhood located on Manhattan's south western tip sandwiched between Soho and the City's financial centre. For the past four decades it has been home to an eclectic mix of small dimly lit Jazz clubs, arthouse cinemas, galleries, small restaurants and coffee houses. It is now considered to be, amongst New Yorkers, the city's hippest and most happening area. If it is about eating, drinking, socialising or just relaxing, TriBeCa is the place to be."

The idea has been put forward by no less than Roy Beers, the man in the know regarding eating and drinking in Glasgow, that this particular neck of the woods at the lower end of Byres Road is more and more becoming one of the West End's 'hippest' locations.

However, Alan, a Masters Graduate in Business from Glasgow Caledonian University, is not relying only on location - developments at TriBeCa are also based on a recent survey carried out at the restaurant. He reckons that by taking account of his customers ideas he can better provide what they are looking for. This includes 'Excellent Food, Wine and Service'.

Have heard great things about Tribeca, and read a brilliant review in the national press a few weeks ago. Was it the Sunday Times or Telegraph? Hope to visit soon and try it for myself.

It seems that they BOIL the bacon down this end of town, paying scant regard to quality of grub being served up to the hungry consumer IE me. The toilets are nice and clean, which adds a lot to my dining experience, as I am a regular user of Sennacott.

Had Lunch today after my daughter raved about your place. It was super and such good value. We both had the Eggs Florentine and the sauce was just perfect. Will be back with lots of friends. Thaks for a very unexpectedly lovely light lunch!!! Atmosphere was great too!

It adds a nice touch to the surrounding area which is currently a little run down, however with the strong calibre of restaurants in the West End I fail to see where this upmarket fast food restaurant will make an impact. This obsession with american culture, or anti-culture is normally restricted to spanish resorts like lanzorote however we now have our very own in Glasgow - which is appealing for my two children. I don't find anything cosmopolitan about American dinging, like 70% of the british population, America to me is something to laugh at, and I have no desire to experience the best "American customer service". Like the Harley Davidson motorcycle parked outside, it looks good but lacks any real substance or quality.
