Room Glasgow has its location within one of Scotland's most prestigious hotels, One Devonshire Gardens. A featured hotel within the Cond? Nast Traveller 2004 'Gold List', and recognised as one of he 'World's Best Places to Stay'. Room presents the perfect partner for One Devonshire Gardens, with its modern restaurant, contemporary design and good quality unpretentious food. The environment is comfortable, stylish and friendly - split over 6 rooms there is a cocktail lounge ?The S Bar', a number of private dining rooms and 4 restaurant rooms.

Photo: room rest 2. The food is classy, fantastic and affordable with a funky approach which will bring a smile to your face. The menu includes retro dishes reminiscent of British Pub dishes from the 70s such as Fish, Chips and Peas or Steak and Kidney Pudding, Cheesecake of the Day and Jelly and Ice Cream. However, in the hands of Mark Greenaway Room's highly talented chef, these staples turn into something quite extraordinary.

There is a real vibrancy at Room and the approach is very flexible. There is a variety of menus on offer throughout the day so whether you are in the mood for something 'quick and snappy' or 'long and lazy' you will be accommodated. Recently, I enjoyed a very pleasant (and long, long) lunch for two, starting off with a drink in the lounge perusing the menus and finishing up with some leisurely sampling from the assiete of sweets and coffee. Jim and I had a lovely morning there over a very satisfying and relaxing Sunday Brunch and can recommend the fine combination of crispy bacon, crisp linen table cloths, masses of tea and smiling faced waiters.

Should you be seeking something unique and exciting Room regularly plan special events such as their monthly food and wine evening:Room Wine Club, where you can sample various wines with your meal. There are also tantalising Room to Escape nights (the last Friday of every odd month), where you will feel you have been whisked away to an exotic location for the evening.

It's also very pleasant popping into Room's S Bar for a Martini cocktail after a long day at work. For the businessperson, Room is the perfect alternative to the mix of classic city centre restaurants currently on offer. The contemporary feel and modern menu interpretation makes for an alternative venue for business entertaining. At weekends, Room comes alive with the glam and glitz you would expect of any major European city restaurant and bar. Don't forget to try out the restaurant's signature Champagne cocktail 'The Roomberry'.
