The Hug and Pint presents
West Princes
+ King Wine
The Hug and Pint, 171 Great Western Rd, Glasgow G4 9AW
Named after the street they met on while at Art School (coincidently right behind us at The Hug and Pint!) Glasgow indie crew West Princes are close to our hearts in many ways.
After cutting their teeth playing live in the city for a couple of years, the band released their debut single, ‘Wet Bark is a Slug’ in 2017. The release; a split 7” alongside Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor and writer Matthias Wolfboy Connor, earned Single of the Week on BBC Radio Scotland and in the Scotsman on Sunday, announcing the band’s arrival in suitably expansive, jangly, dreamy style.
Following a slew of well-received shows up and down the country, including a run with Hardly Art/Sub Pop mainstays Chastity Belt, the band went through a couple of line up changes before coming back stronger than ever for their first show in town in over a year and we can’t wait to host the welcome party.
