Brendon Fraser is incredible – and freshly Oscar-nominated – in this adaptation of Samuel D Hunter’s acclaimed play, directed by Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream). Bolstered by exceptional supporting performances by Hong Chau (The Menu) and Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Aronofsky’s intimate study of a reclusive English teacher mourning the death of his partner is heartbreaking and characteristically visceral.
