greed

21 – 26 February, 2020

Steve Coogan stars in this sharp satire as self-made British billionaire Sir Richard “Greedy” McCreadie, whose empire is in crisis. For 30 years he has ruled the world of retail fashion but after a damaging public inquiry, his image is tarnished. To save his reputation, he decides to bounce back with a highly publicised and extravagant party celebrating his 60th birthday on the Greek island of Mykonos. Surrounded by his fragmented family – including his daughter (Sophie Cookson) and the reality TV crew following her – and his ever-present biographer Nick (David Mitchell), McCreadie attempts to regain control of his life. Director Michael Winterbottom (24 Hour Party PeopleA Mighty Heart) surveys the grotesque inequality of wealth in the fashion industry with sly humour and poignant emotion.
