El Topo GFT
15 and 16 January, 2020
Jodorowsky himself plays ‘The Mole’: a black-clad, master-gunfighter in this Mexican acid Western. The film opens with El Topo journeying across a desert dreamscape with his young son to duel four sharp-shooting Zen masters, who each bestow a Great Lesson before they die. El Topo’s journey sees him become the guru of a subterranean tribe of deformed outcasts who he must liberate from depraved cultists in a neighbouring town.
