Björk: BiophiliaU
GFT
Friday 24–Sunday 26 October
The legendary avant-garde Icelandic artist and musician Björk’s 2012 project Biophilia was unlike any other, released on a series of apps and culminating in a multidimensional concert at London’s Alexandra Palace, filmed by Nick Fenton and Peter Strickland (Berberian Sound Studio). The resulting film catches Björk at her most indescribable, performing every track from her studio album, along with some classics from her back catalogue, on a variety of instruments – some traditional, some digital, and some completely unclassifiable. An insurmountable achievement by one of the world’s most exciting musicians.
The screening on Sunday 26 October (16.00) will be preceded by When Björk met Attenborough (Louise Hooper, 47m). This unique discussion between the artist and David Attenborough looks at the intersection of music, nature and technology, and was inspired by the Biophillia project.
Tickets £10/8, no further discounts apply.
