Adrian Wiszniewski in conversation with John Mackechnie
Saturday 14 February, 2026, 2 p.m.
Exhibition continues until February 28th 2026.
Glasgow Print Studio, 103 Trongate, G1 5HD Glasgow
An in conversation event with Adrian Wiszniewski and John Mackechnie MBE, former Director of Glasgow Print Studio.
Wiszniewski’s love of printmaking found its footing in 1985, when he was invited by Mackechnie to work at Glasgow Print Studio. There, he developed silkscreen and etching works with master printmakers Johnny Taylor and Stuart Duffin, marking a pivotal moment in his early artistic development. The resulting prints, Po-et and The Sculptor’s Nightmare, are now regarded as critical works within Wiszniewski’s practice and are presented in this exhibition as cornerstone pieces in his edition catalogue.
The Sculptor’s Nightmare is among several works in the exhibition to have undergone extensive hand-colouring, transforming each print into a unique variation. These interventions highlight Wiszniewski’s exceptional facility with both colour and line, and reflect his continued engagement with printmaking as an evolving, experimental medium.
