Concert at Cottiers with Ballad Lines
Celebrating the launch of the Ballad Lines Studio Cast Album. One night only to hear a concert performance of the songs from Ballad Lines (formerly A Mother’s Song) the heart-opening musical created by award-winning Scottish songwriter Finn Anderson (Islander) and award-winning director Tania Azevedo (&Juliet, But I’m A Cheerleader).
This unique event will be performed live by musicians, actors and guest artists from the Studio Cast Album including Anna Massie (Blazin’ Fiddles and RANT), Laura Wilkie (Kinnaris Quartet), Signy Jakobsdottir ( Lloyd Cole, Capercaillie, Karine Polwart), Jenny Clifford (The Joy Hotel, RSC/Thom Yorke Hamlet Hail to the Thief), Charlotte Printer (Altered Images, Skipinnish), Beth Malcolm, Shonagh Murray (Six).
Ballad Lines spans continents and generations, following three women bound together by blood, song, and choice. It weaves together original songs with traditional Scottish, Irish, and Appalachian ballads, breathing new life into music that has echoed through generations, unearthing the deep ties between storytelling, heritage, and identity.
