When The Wind Blows plus Introduction at GFT
Wednesday 6 August, 2025, 5.40 p.m.
Jimmy Murakami’s (The Snowman) lesser-known, British animation classic follows the Bloggs family through the after-effects of nuclear war on their home in rural Sussex. Based on the graphic novel by Raymond Briggs, When the Wind Blows is a deeply moving exploration of the devastating effects of war and blind faith in authority, featuring an original soundtrack by Roger Waters, Phil Collins, Hugh Cornwall and David Bowie.
This screening has been programmed by Heather Bradshaw and will have a recorded introduction from curator and co-creator of Ghibliotheque, Michael Leader.
Your ticket also includes an invitation to GFT’s networking reception at the Maldron Glasgow, taking place from 7.30pm to 9pm. Come along for a relaxed evening of drinks and conversation and chat about the film, With Glasgow Film Festival’s Animatic Lab, and meet creatives from the Scottish animation sector!
