Whyte Noise Unveil Eclectic Debut Album, ‘What We Love To Do’
Father-son duo from Paisley delivers a vibrant mix of original songs across genres.
Whyte Noise, the dynamic son-and-father duo of Ciaran and Gordon Whyte,
proudly announce the release of their debut album ‘What We Love To Do’ — a
heartfelt and refreshingly eclectic collection of 11 original tracks that pay homage to
their roots while pushing genre boundaries.
Crafted with warmth, wit, and musicianship that spans generations, ‘What We Love
To Do’ reflects exactly what the title suggests: a celebration of storytelling through
music. From the upbeat rhythms and soaring melody of “Long for Glencoe,” a
contemporary folk ode to the Scottish glen, the tight harmony-driven celebration of
love, “I’m Wi’ You” and the laugh-out-loud brilliance of “The Whisky Song” —
where Ciaran name-drops over 100 single malts in rapid-fire succession — the album
showcases a remarkable range of styles, moods, and musical traditions.
“We didn’t set out to fit into one genre,” says Ciaran Whyte. “Our family musical
tradition is so eclectic; it was inevitable that this would find its way into our own
compositions. For me, music has always been central to sharing experiences of life with
friends and family – the highs and the lows – and hopefully this comes across in the songs we
write and in the joy we have in playing live together. It’s us, doing what we love.”
Born and raised in Paisley, the Whytes bring their deep Scottish identity and a
lifetime of musical passion to each song. It’s a family album in the truest sense, with
Ciaran’s mum Susan also adding her backing vocals to several tracks. With clever
lyrics, tight harmonies, rich instrumentation, and undeniable chemistry, ‘What We
Love To Do’ introduces Whyte Noise as a truly original voice in today’s musical
landscape.
The album was recorded in April 2025 at Gran’s House Studio near Biggar in
Scotland, and engineered by Chris Waite. ‘What We Love To Do’ is available now on
all major streaming platforms, with physical copies and exclusive merch available on
the band website at whytenoiseband.com

through the names of over 100 single malts.
