The Old Oak plus Ken Loach Q & A
Wednesday 20 September, 2024 6.50pm
TJ Ballantyne, the landlord of The Old Oak, is hanging on to the pub by his fingertips. His predicament is endangered even more when it becomes contested territory after the arrival of Syrian refugees who are placed in his once-thriving mining village without any notice.
In an unlikely friendship, he meets a curious young Syrian woman, Yara. Can they find a way for the two communities to understand each other?
This special preview screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Ken Loach and writer Paul Laverty.
