Enys Men at Glasgow Film Theatre
15 – 19 January, 2023
Written, directed and photographed by Mark Jenkin (Bait), Enys Men is a mind-bending folk horror set in 1973 that unfolds on an uninhabited island off the Cornish coast. A wildlife volunteer (Mary Woodvine) who stays on the island making daily observations of a rare flower is plunged into a metaphysical world that forces both her and viewers to question what is real and what is a nightmare. Filmed on location around the disused tin mines of West Penwith, Enys Men is both an arresting and visually stunning ode to Cornwall’s rich folklore and natural beauty.
