The Tar Factory, Sweet for Addicts
Friday 5th & Saturday 6th August 2022 at 7.30 p.m.
Websters Theatre Great Western Road, Glasgow. G4 9HZ.
Second show of 2022!
This show contains strong language and scenes of an adult nature.
Set in Coatbridge back in the days when ducking and diving was the norm, The Tar Factory tells of one Tar Squad and their leader, Mad Dog, as they scam their way through each day, working for booze money and enough extra to keep their long-suffering wives off their backs, we see Mad Dog’s schemes blossom and then fail with deadly consequences.
Based on the book of the same name, by Alan Kelly, the patter of a working class road gang is funny, at time crass, but always honest and authentic.
This is a play that is not to be missed!

About Sweet For Addicts
“Sweet For Addicts is an organisation involving people whose lives have been touched by addiction and have used the arts as a cathartic therapy.”
“The people who perform with Sweet For Addicts have connection with addiction through themselves, a loved one, friend, acquaintance or a family member. They could have connections through knowing these people or be addicts themselves but the most important part of the organisation is that the Arts are seen as part of their recovery.”
“That recovery allows them to participate in an activity designed to examine the humanity of man whilst enjoying the company of people who have similar stories to tell and hopes to share.”
