Days of the Bagnold Summer Glasgow Film Festival

4 – 5 March, 2020
GFT 12 Rose Street, G3 6RB
Simon Bird makes a hugely impressive directorial debut with an adaptation of the award-winning graphic novel set to a score by Belle and Sebastian. Fifteen year-old thrash metal fan Daniel (Earl Cave, son of Nick Cave) and his mother Sue (Monica Dolan) share the same living space but are worlds apart. Librarian Sue is mild-mannered, inoffensive and sensible. Daniel is a glowering mass of rage that is only articulated in music he regards as ‘my religion’. When Daniel’s eagerly awaited summer trip to America is cancelled, he faces six very long weeks of quality time with his mother.
