Die Tomorrow, GFT
16 – 19 September, 2019
The latest film from Thai auteur and social media sensation, Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit, Die Tomorrow is a poetic and profoundly moving meditation on the brevity of life. Lyrical vignettes from the penultimate days of individuals, unaware they are soon to die, are interspersed with documentary footage of subjects young and old ruminating on their fear and acceptance of death.
Combining dreamy camerawork with wonderfully naturalistic performances, underscored by a lush piano soundtrack, Die Tomorrow is a quietly profound film in which Thamrongrattanarit tackles his subject matter with wit and a delicate touch. A beautifully life-affirming film.
