My Friend the Polish Girl at GFT plus Q & A

This unique fiction film takes the form of a first-time filmmaker’s documentary told through the eyes (and lens) of amateur filmmaker Katie: an American rich kid following Alicja, an erratic unemployed Polish actress. The film is intentionally provocative, challenging the audience to consider if they are comfortable with what they are watching. It forces the viewer to consider the methods that documentary filmmakers employ to shape their stories, by showing the lengths of manipulation that Katie will go to in order to find a story worth telling about her subject, Alicja.

Followed by a Q&A with co-directors Ewa Banaszkiewicz and Mateusz Dymek.
