The Fight GFT
19 – 21 April, 2019
Tina is a mother of three, battling the demons of her past and her overwhelming life. Her daughter is being bullied at school, her parents’ marriage is falling apart and she’s juggling everything with her full-time job in a care home. Looking to regain control, Tina enters an amateur boxing competition, and mentored by her no-nonsense trainer Viv, begins to find some daylight. Gritty and graceful, Jessica Hynes’ directorial debut is driven by strong female performances and shot through with bittersweet, compassionate humour. An excellent cast includes young newcomers Liv Hill (Jellyfish) and Sennia Nanua (The Girl with All the Gifts) alongside Alice Lowe, Russell Brand, Anita Dobson, Rhona Mitra and Shaun Parkes.
