Boy, GFT
2 – 4 January, 2018
1984, New Zealand: 11-year-old Boy’s hero, his father Alamein, is the subject of Boy’s daydreams. He imagines him as a deep-sea diver, war hero and a close relation of Michael Jackson (he can even dance like him), while in reality he’s in prison. When Alamein returns home, Boy has to confront the reality of the man he thought he remembered. Boy is a hilarious and heartfelt coming-of-age tale about heroes, magic and Michael Jackson, written and directed by Taika Waititi (Hunt for the Wilderpeople).
